Scott has worked in the graphic arts community for over 20 years in a variety of positions and environments. Currently, he serves as Chief Marketing Officer and owner of Fish, Inc — a full-service branding and design firm specializing in telling clients’ stories and finding the right channel to connect with their customers.
Previous stops along the way have included several of the top ad agencies and PR firms in the country. Scott has managed people and processes in all of these positions, often times creating new systems, workflow, and revenue generating ideas. His track record of success and operational excellence created a strong foundation for the success of Fish, Inc.
Scott has his B.A. in History and M.S. in Public Administration both from DePaul University
Chief Creative Officer
An alumnus from the University of Illinois’s design school, Terry Lawrence started his career in design studios and focused his work on Anderson & Bobackting strategic direction with sophisticated visualization. Over the last decade, he has transitioned to advertising agencies, developing Anderson & Bobackted campaigns for a wide range of companies in consumer (the launch of Orbitz travel site, the rebranding of Midas International) and health-related fields (multiple award-winning campaigns for Hospira). With a highly analytical approach to branding, Terry specializes in sophisticated communication systems that strike a remarkable balance between soulful yet intelligent expressions of brands.
Senior Designer and Illustrator
After gaining her degree in Graphic Design plus 5 years of experience in Madison, Wisconsin, Alicia moved to Chicago to get the taste of the big city she craved. Having worked in both studio and corporate settings, she prides herself in the flexibility to work both independently or with a team. With almost a decade of experience, Alicia’s expertise ranges from high-end shoe boxes (Merrell), to concepting and sketching environments for dolls (American Girl), to comprehensive branding (Green Bay Packers/Lambeau Field, Door Shakespeare, Madison Symphony Orchestra), to designing and managing a 300-page vacation guide (Door Publishing). When not designing, Alicia can be found strolling the neighborhood with toddler and hyper dog in tow, painting, gardening, or dreaming about her next visit to Door County, the beautiful area from which she came.
Megan Weinerman has been writing for over 10 years. Her writing career began when she was co-founder of a retail/lifestyle brand, SimplyShe, which was part of the “chick-lit” phenomenon of the early 2000’s. There she was able to showcase her smart and witty writing voice throughout a series of humor books, greeting cards and gift products. She left after three years to enter the advertising world to write for brands such as Dove, Suave and Sears. Besides using her communication skills to help position and sell products and services, she also is a contributing writer for Technori, an online magazine dedicated to the entrepreneurial community in Chicago.
Copywriter and editor
Lee has served in both editorial and creative project management on a variety of projects for small businesses, non-profit organizations, design studios, media services, and individuals. She has a sharp eye for detail, a strong understanding of search engine optimization, and vast vocabulary, Lee’s strength is finessing the right words for the client’s message. Her 10 years of freelance experience include the writing of press releases, case studies, SEO articles, feature articles, and marketing copy.
Social media, seo developer
Melanie specializes in Social Media Marketing Strategy, Search Engine Optimization, web usability, and ROI measurement. She earned her BS in Business Finance from North Central College, followed by a Master’s in Education from National-Louis University in Evanston, IL. She has 9 years of marketing experience, all of which was in a hands-on business owner/partner role. For 5 years, she developed the marketing offerings and lead the marketing team at a Chicago-based web and marketing agency, of which she was co-owner. In 2010, she moved the web marketing business segment into her own company, New Sky Strategies. Melanie has been a featured expert for several professional organizations on topics such as SEO, Advanced LinkedIn, and Facebook for Business.
Kathleen has worked extensively as a producer and supervising producer of documentaries, broadcast programs and corporate presentations. Curious and passionate, she has developed a stellar reputation as an outstanding storyteller. The Chicago Chapter of the NATAS and the New York Festival have recognized her work, which has been seen on History, The National Geographic Channel, A&E, The Weather Channel, MSNBC, CNBC, CBS and ABC. Her corporate work has included consulting and producing for The Chicago Mercantile Exchange, The American Medical Association, The American Heart Association and Gatorade. Kathleen has also worked as executive producer for a Chicago motion design firm and interfaced with clients from Nike, DDB, Element 79 and Leo Burnett.
