Fish Inc. named as agency of record for major South Side redevelopment project

Emerging creative services firm, Fish Inc., named agency of record for POAH’s  Woodlawn redevelopment  initiative.

Chicago, July 11, 2012 – All eyes are on the Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) Woodlawn redevelopment project after the organization received a $30.5mil Choice Neighborhood Initiative grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Fish Inc. is now charged with creating a revitalized brand identity for the initiative, which is sure to attract national attention.

As one of the first recipients of this new grant initiative, the POAH project is significant and the City of Chicago, POAH and HUD will all be under the microscope to determine the success of the Choice Neighborhood Initiative program.  The POAH redevelopment centers on the previously distressed Section 8 Grove Parc Plaza Apartments located along South Cottage Grove Avenue between East 60th and 63rd Streets.

The creative team at Fish Inc. is working closely with POAH, as well as others in the community, to create an identity that speaks of the historic significance and tradition of the neighborhood, and that helps to attract new businesses and new residents to the development. With a reputation that has long served as a barrier to new investment in the neighborhood, Fish Inc. and POAH are challenged with changing Chicagoan’s perspective of the neighborhood. Their goal is to attract urban pioneers to the new vibrant and attractive mixed-use and mixed-income urban community already in development.

Phase one of the creative project includes name development and branding, a naming strategy for units within the development, and a website design. The project with be a nice addition to Fish Inc.’s growing portfolio.
